Federal Grants - Canada
There are grants available under the ecoENERGY Retrofit – Homes program for owners of single family homes including detached, semi-detached and low rise multi-unit residential buildings who are retrofitting to increase energy efficiency. For a list of grants see Grants For Energy Efficiency
$50 grant for DWHR units ¾ to 1 meter in length
- available for Watercycle™ models HX-3030 and DX-3036
$100 grant for DWHR units over 1 meter in length
- available for Watercycle™ models HX-4040, HX-4044, DX-3040, DX-3058, and DX-4060

Provincial Grants
Saskatchewan
New homes:
$150 grant for DWHR units of any length
- available for all Watercycle™ models

$200 grant for DWHR units over 1 meter in length

Ontario
Existing homes and buildings:
The province of Ontario will match Federal Incentives for installation of drain-water heat recovery units. This results in total (Federal plus Provincial) rebates for retrofits in Ontario of:
$100 grant for DWHR units ¾ to 1 meter in length
- available for Watercycle™ models HX-3030 and DX-3036
$200 grant for DWHR units over 1 meter in length
- available for Watercycle™ models HX-4040, HX-4044, DX-3040, DX-3058, and DX-4060

There may also be grant incentives or low-interest loans from other agencies like the Ontario Power Authority (OPA) or gas and electric distribution utilities.

Nova Scotia
Existing homes:
The province of Nova Scotia will match Federal incentives for installation of drain-water heat recovery units. This results in total (Federal plus Provincial) rebates for retrofits in Nova Scotia of:
$100 grant for DWHR units ¾ to 1 meter in length
- available for Watercycle™ models HX-3030 and DX-3036
$200 grant for DWHR units over 1 meter in length
- available for Watercycle™ models HX-4040, HX-4044, DX-3040, DX-3058, and DX-4060
Rebates Offered By Utilities
Québec - Gaz Métropolitain
$400 rebate for any drain-water heat recovery unit
Owners of single-family homes, duplexes and triplexes heated with natural gas who purchase and install a drain water heat recovery system can obtain a rebate of $400. The rebate is provided by Québec’s Energy Efficiency Fund to Gaz Métropolitain customers.
