Discover How You Can Maximize Energy
Efficiency And Water Conservation
To Add Comfort And Value To Your Home

Find Out What Technologies Are Most Cost Effective:
Some Are Even Subsidized By
Government Agencies Or Utilities!

Whether you’re building a new house or renovating an old one, your greatest concerns are comfort and affordability. Not only are land, construction materials and skilled tradespeople more costly than ever. Energy and water are both in short supply and will undoubtedly become more and more expensive as supplies become less and less available.

Once your new house is built or your renovations completed, how much will it cost to keep your house running? How much will it cost 10 years from now? Will essential energy and water resources even be available to provide the level of comfort and convenience you’re accustomed to?

In the process of obtaining an environmental degree, I learned that small scale energy generation and water and energy conservation are our biggest untapped resources.

In the last 20 years there have been significant developments in alternative energy technologies and in conservation practices to help reduce or eliminate dependence on public utilities.

When we decided to build a retirement home, we wanted the latest information on how to make our home ecologically friendly, without sacrificing a contemporary look and without giving up any of the comforts and conveniences we’re used to.

I am just beginning to realize what a huge project I’ve taken on to find the information I need to start planning my building project. What I’ve found so far is enlightening and encouraging.

It is now easier and more affordable than ever for the average homeowner to incorporate alternative energy technologies in their house design. And many renovations that increase energy efficiency are partially funded by government programs or rebates from your local utility.

Since I’m doing all this research anyway, I want to share the information I gather through this website to encourage people to take advantage of the techniques and technologies available to us for energy and water conservation.

If you’re planning to build or renovate, your concerns are not only environmental. You need to get the best return from your investment. You need the security of knowing that for as long as you live in your house the energy and water you need to live comfortably will be available and affordable.

Like us, you want to enhance the value of your home by carefully using design and technology to reduce dependence on public utilities for energy and water needs. You want to be certain you’ll have access to all the energy and water you need when utilities are no longer able to meet demands.

So bookmark this page and check back often. I’ll be adding more information as my research progresses.
